In this week’s Bible study we are reading Philippians 1:27- 2:15.
This passage focuses on how we should live our lives for Christ. There are so many of these throughout the Bible, and I love reading them! So often I find myself wanting to make sure that I am living according to what God has planned, and trying to be the person that He wants me to be. Then I read these and I learn how to live more and more like Christ each day! These are simply my own interpretations of what these verses mean. As you read it, I hope that God shows you what He would like you to see and that it encourages you and challenges you this week to align yourselves to Him and be the amazing loving people that He has created you to be.

27 Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit striving together as one for the faith of the gospel
~ Live a life that proclaims the gospel and its light.
28 without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you. This is a sign to them that they will be destroyed, but that you will be saved—and that by God. 29 For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him,
~ No matter what happens, He will save us. We might suffer for Him, but He will be with us.
30 since you are going through the same struggle you saw I had, and now hear that I still have.
2 Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.
~ If we are Christ followers and claim to be His disciples then we need to follow after Him in these ways(vrs. 4)
5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
7 rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
8 And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death—
even death on a cross!
~ Jesus’ mindset was to humble Himself and be a servant and obedient till the end.
9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
~ Because of what Jesus did, the earth shall proclaim the glory of God.
12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.
14 Do everything without grumbling or arguing, 15 so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky 16 as you hold firmly to the word of life. NLT
~As we continue to live for Him, we need to keep pursuing and running because He is always working in us to fulfill His prose for our life.
